ABOUT

The Orbis Africa Journal is a new publishing platform that aims to foster discussion about the African world and its diasporas. It began with rock art on the African continent over 30,000 years ago and the development of graphic writing systems in the modern era in the Americas. Recognizing Africa as a general subject matter across disciplines will help us realize its foundations and become more aware of the unique way the African intellectual legacy intersects with the way our world functions. Understanding history, philosophy, art history, archaeology, anthropology, visual culture, and literature from the recent and distant past requires studying them to make sense of any part and its possible application in understanding all things Africa. The journal will also be a platform for evaluating African contributions to the world and exploring what African knowledge has to say about current-day issues.
